Since attending an Andesite stone carving workshop held shortly after the 2006 Symposium, Denise has continued carving stone and being an active member of the Te Kupenga Stone Sculpture Society in New Plymouth.
Her style is predominantly organic and curvilinear. She enjoys the process of seeing a boulder evolve into a form which is something that only the sculptor can see and bring out. Denise has been painting and exhibiting her work for many years and stone sculpting is an extension of her mixed media work and creative processes.
This will be her 5th Symposia in New Plymouth and a great experience and honour to work with the many talented sculptors from within the area, nationally and internationally.
