I was born in Tokat, Turkey in 1973. In 1993 I have started studying sculpture at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul. In 1999 I graduated from the Sculpture Department at Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts.
After graduation I started working in my studio in Istanbul. I have participated in various national and international exhibitions, art festivals and sculpture symposiums. Now I’m living in Ayvalik and working in my studio.
Material is the main defining force of sculpture. Within every material the sculptor sees new opportunities of narration. Among all materials, with its complexity, durability and fragility together, stone may be the most formidable of all.
Varying in forms and themes, my sculptures have the basic compositional elements in common; Tension between the units, rhytmical arrangement of masses and a balanced and harmonious overall composition.
