I gain
immense pleasure from sculpting stone, and particularly enjoy working with
our local Taranaki Andesite, which has great character and is both a
challenging and rewarding media for sculpture.
After attending
an andesite sculpture workshop following the 2006 symposium I joined the Te
Kupenga Stone Sculpture Society. I was fortunate enough to be able to
participate in my first symposium in 2008, an experience that was both
stimulating and personally satisfying.
I value and appreciate
the support and camaraderie of Te Kupenga Stone Sculpture Society, and
enjoy being a member of this diverse artistic group.
Participating in the 2010 symposium is a great opportunity to further
develop as a sculptor and work alongside the many artists involved.
I
hope to make a positive contribution to this significant biennial event,
and intend to make the most of this unique experience and enjoy the
beautiful coastal setting.
