WELCOME TO THE TE KUPENGA INTERNATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM 2010
The selection process for artists attending the 2010 Symposium is now
complete. The artists' names are published in the following
pages. The International, National and Taranaki sculptors will gather
in New Plymouth at the end of December 2010,
Shortly, this
website will feature links to images of each artist's previous
work and statements from the artists about their work.
For three weeks in January these talented artists will carve the
local volcanic Andesite boulders on the New Plymouth foreshore beside the
Tasman sea. The local public and tourists will have a rare
opportunity to observe hard rock sculptors at work and to see the fruits of
their efforts at the final exhibition from 19 January and auction on 23
January.
Throughout the Symposium this website will enable
people to see events unfold – with new pictures of the artist's works
in progress being uploaded on a regular basis.
When
revisiting this website, do remember to PRESS YOUR REFRESH BUTTON so
that fresh images will download for you to see.
