I have been carving and sculpting for close to 30yrs, predominantly in stone. While a lot of my work is in jade, I have used andesite regularly for well over 15yrs now, and also enjoy basalt, granite, greywacke and any other reasonably hard stone.
My favourite part of the process is the creativity, and I love how things morph while under way. I've always enjoyed the finishing side of things - there's something very satisfying about bringing the beauty of the stone out after lots of hard graft.
